Sensiba Named One of the Bay Area’s Healthiest Employers for Sixth Consecutive Year
Sensiba LLP, a leading Northern California-based accounting and business consulting firm, has been named one of the Greater Bay Area’s Healthiest Employers by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times for the sixth year in a row.
The Silicon Valley Business Journal and San Francisco Business Times selected the 2016 Healthiest Employer winners based on factors contributing to the health of its employees. Considerations included: fitness activities offered within the firm, wellness programs, employee coaching, firm-wide encouragement of fitness activities during the workday, reimbursement programs for fitness and wellness activities, firm-wide team sports, fitness incentive programs, and availability of ergonomic furniture and equipment in the office.
“Health of mind and body is a core focus at the Firm,” said John Sensiba, Managing Partner of Sensiba. “We believe that by promoting a healthy work environment, we are helping our employees live healthier lives not only in the office, but also within their families and communities.”
“Wellness programs play a vital role in business,” said Sholly Nicholson, Manager of Human Resources at Sensiba. “Aside from boosting employee morale, research shows that employees perform better when a healthy lifestyle is supported and encouraged. As a Firm, we consider health to be a pillar of attracting and maintaining a happy and healthy workforce, and we are proud that we have been recognized for this accomplishment.”
The Firm has built a comprehensive wellness program that includes offering employees fitness programs and benefits focused on supporting healthy choices both at work and outside of the office. Benefits include: healthy snacks in each of the company’s six offices, educational classes on healthy life choices, as well as flexible work arrangements to ensure employees have time to commit to their health and fitness goals. The Firm brings in outside training resources on a regular basis for stress management, nutrition seminars, and offers chair massages and fruit smoothies during the busy tax season. The Firm also participates in softball tournaments, group bocce ball, bowling, golfing events and group walkathon fundraisers.
