With over ten years of accounting experience, Senior Tax Manager Anna Baker specializes in tax preparation, business strategy, and strategic planning for individuals, businesses, trusts and estates.

Anna works extensively with a wide variety of both real estate clients and manufacturing and distribution clients. She has extensive tax compliance and planning experience with multi-tiered real estate groups that often extend to related trusts, estates, and individuals. Anna also assists large corporations with their structural analysis, and business strategy in the context of tax reform and taxation of foreign earnings. She works on multi-state, consolidated entities, and large corporations with multiple foreign subsidiaries.

Anna enjoys staying current with tax law changes and complexities and takes these opportunities to think dynamically and assist clients with strategic planning. She has many industry publications including her most recent article published by Bloomberg Tax with insights on Qualified Opportunity Zones.

Anna received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, where she graduated Cum Laude. She is a licensed CPA in the State of California, and she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Anna has also served as a board member for a number of non-profit organizations supporting the academic and musical success of local youth. Outside of work, Anna participates in equestrian sports and equine training. She enjoys learning about health, nutrition, and sustainable living, and she has a passion for sharing this knowledge with others.

With over 30 years of experience, Consulting Partner Frank Balestreri leads the firm’s consulting practice. Frank specializes in serving private and public clients in the retail, consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, and the professional services industries.

Frank has significant experience with providing accounting solutions to clients from assessments to transaction level processing, monthly close, financial statement preparation and technology solutions.  He has consulted on business combinations, divestitures, impairments, and revenue recognition. Kristen Barrett earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Oregon State University and is a licensed CPA in Oregon. Kristen began her accounting career with Sensiba in 2016 and was quickly promoted in a variety of roles to her current manager position. Kristen has over nine years of governmental auditing and accounting experience and is highly experienced in auditing the more complex areas for our Oregon municipal audit clients.

As a licensed CPA in Oregon, she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Kristen specializes in Oregon municipal audits, and maintains the training required to plan and supervise engagements, which requires 80 biannual hours of directly relevant governmental accounting and auditing continuing professional education. In the past five years, courses have included intensive training related to GASB statements 87-102, the Uniform Guidance and how to effectively plan the engagement under those requirements, and ongoing Yellow Book training. Additionally, Kristen conducts internal governmental accounting training opportunities to associates each summer and is the municipal niche representative for the Sensiba summer intern program mentoring college students interested in a future position with our firm.

As audit manager, Kristen will work with the District and is authorized to make recommendations and decisions. She is responsible for helping to make sure audit deliverables are provided to the District in a timely manner and working with the in-charge on high risk, complex areas of the audit.

With over 30 years of tax experience, Tax Partner Greg Brown specializes in tax planning, compliance, and tax consulting.

Greg was instrumental in establishing our Venture Capital and Technology Practice and works extensively with venture capital firms, privately-held technology companies, and high net worth individuals. He is an expert in investment partnership and technology company taxation.

Greg is active in the Firm’s tax department education efforts. He also serves as a mentor in the Firm’s emerging leaders development program.

Greg is a frequent panelist and speaker covering various tax topics and current business issues impacted by current or pending tax law changes. Greg has published many articles in The San Jose and San Francisco Business Journal, Smart Business Magazine, and The New York Times.

Greg received a bachelor’s degree in taxation from San Jose State University in 1984 and a master’s in taxation degree from Golden Gate University in 2000.  He is a licensed CPA in California.

Anyone who knows Greg knows his passion for cycling and his commitment to the American Diabetes Association. Greg is a member of the Big Ring Riders cycling team who annually rides Tour de Cure to support the Association’s research and advocacy efforts.  In between cycling and volunteering for the many local events, he escapes up to Arnold with his wife and family for hiking, fly fishing, kayaking, and riding bikes (of course!). Greg enjoys watching live sports and cheering on the Giants and the Niners. He also appreciates a good non-fiction book, wrenching on his bikes, doing puzzles, and binge-watching with his family.

With over 35 years of experience in public accounting and financial services, Tax Principal Patricia Chantler specializes in individual and family tax planning and tax structuring of business transactions.

Patricia works extensively in estate planning, trust accounting, and estate and trust compliance. This experience includes decedent estate returns and trust returns, like charitable remainder trusts, grantor trusts, and other simple and complex trust returns. In addition, her exposure to a variety of industries and her background in the financial services industry provides her with broad-based experience in working with companies of all sizes.

Patricia is the recipient of the YWCA Tribute to Women Award, which recognizes women exemplifying excellence in executive-level positions. She is also the recipient of the Women of Influence Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal and has been quoted in top business publications such as The Wall Street Journal.

Patricia received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from San Jose State University in 1995. Outside of work, Patricia enjoys traveling, house boating, and hiking.

He leads Sensiba’s agribusiness specialty group and continues to provide service to closely-held businesses of all sizes. Bill also serves on the Tanimura & Antle Board of Directors and George Mark Children’s House. His clients span 17 western states as well as Mexico and Chile.

Devoted husband of 12 years, Bill Gisvold is a family man at heart. He spends most of his downtime with his eight children and eight grandchildren. They take many trips together throughout the year, favoring the skiing slopes of Sun Valley or the Mexican sun. Bill also enjoys a few rounds of golf a week and relaxes in the evenings with a nice glass of Chardonnay. Ultimately though, Bill’s favorite time is spent watching his grandson’s little league team.
