With nearly 20 years of experience, Tax Partner Masha Herzbrun specializes in compliance and consulting for venture capital and technology clients. Masha has extensive sector-focused experience supporting startups and industry leaders, as well as high net worth individuals. She helps clients address complex corporate, federal and state tax matters, including the tax and compliance implications of crypotocurrencies.

Masha also devotes time to helping team members develop their careers and achieve work-life balance, and she is passionate about recruiting and educating students about careers in public accounting.

Masha received her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University in 2006. She is a licensed CPA in the State of California and a member of CalCPA and the AICPA. Masha is fluent in Russian and speaks elementary Italian.

Outside of work, Masha is an active biohacker and health enthusiast who enjoys reading, traveling, backpacking and other outdoors activities with her family and friends.

Seth holds Master (Tax Emphasis) and Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting from Brigham Young University, and is a licensed CPA in the State of Texas. He has been a member of Institute of Management Accountants and a VITA volunteer/partner.  

Outside of work, Seth enjoys volunteering as a referee for water polo (which he’s played at the national level). He’s also an avid collector of decorative swords, Pops, tarot decks, and board games.

Misha received a bachelor’s degree in business management and economics with a minor in legal studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Additionally, she studied finance and consumer behavior at the London School of Economics. She is a licensed CPA in California.

With over 10 years of experience, Kaylyn Kleinhans leads Sensiba’s State & Local Tax Practice. Kaylyn specializes in multi-state corporate income tax, business activity tax (BAT) nexus analysis, revenue sourcing analysis, local taxes such as San Francisco Gross Receipts Tax (SFGRT) and Los Angeles City Business Tax (LACBT), and unitary/consolidated state income tax compliance. She works extensively with clients in the technology, retail, and manufacturing industries.

Kaylyn received a Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency (CAAP) from Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business from Westmont College. Outside of work, Kaylyn enjoys spending time with family and traveling around the world (pre-COVID). Now she spends her free time at home with her husband, and one very fluffy and very spoiled cat watching the latest TV series or playing board games. Kaylyn is also an avid animal lover who quite often finds herself in implausible situations rescuing abandoned animals.

Outside of work, Rebecca has been an after-school tutor at the Boys and Girls Club, enjoys family activities, and is active with a variety of community organizations.

With over 40 years of experience, Tax Principal Jerry Krause specializes in counseling and supporting clients in achieving their operational and financial goals.

As the leader of our construction practice, Jerry works extensively with closely held and family businesses in the construction industry as well as clients in manufacturing and real estate. He is adept at taking complex and challenging situations and making them understandable and actionable for a client’s management team.

Jerry received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Santa Clara University in 1972 and is a licensed CPA in California. Outside of work, Jerry enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with his family.

With experience across public and private sector clients, Nick has a proven track record of delivering strategic outcomes through process improvement, growth planning, and operational alignment. Before founding AssuranceLab, he held leadership roles in business intelligence and development, helping organizations connect long-term strategy with day-to-day execution.

At Sensiba, Nick leads strategic growth initiatives and helps expand the firm’s global capabilities. He is known for aligning teams around shared goals, modernizing client delivery, and keeping an eye on what’s next, ensuring Sensiba evolves alongside the needs of today’s tech-driven businesses.

Nick holds an MBA from Deakin University, with a specialization in Leadership and Innovation, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Leadership. He has volunteered for over a decade as a Training Assistant with the Mazenod Panthers All Ability Football Club, an Australian Rules team supporting players with various disabilities.

He lives in Sydney with his partner and young son and enjoys traveling, fitness, exploring new ideas, and spending time outdoors.

She provides expert advice in each EBP audit engagement and works diligently to ensure they are executed smoothly and efficiently. Suki is a member of the EBP Audit Quality Center, a voluntary membership center for firms that audit employee benefit plans created by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Suki has received certification in blockchain technology from AICPA and CIMA. She understands the current landscape, business applications, and financial control considerations associated with blockchain use. She is also well versed in regulatory concerns and governance related to blockchain implementations. Suki is a leader in Sensiba’s internal data analytics and automation effort, working to drive innovation and efficiency.

William R. Norwalk

Bill Norwalk started his time as a partner of a CPA firm in 1985 as a founding partner of the firm DeMarta & Norwalk, which merged into the East Bay office of Sensiba. Over the next 30+ years, he had the privilege of working with and contributing to the success of many owner-managed companies.

Bill spent six of his years with Sensiba as the partner-in-charge of the firm’s tax group. Many of the firm’s current tax partners served in key roles during this time and have continued to enhance the firm’s offerings to provide value to the firm’s clients. The current leadership team and tax staff are some of the best in our field. They not only are skilled tax practitioners but have great communication skills.

Over the years, Bill has been very active in many non-profit organizations. He currently serves as chairman of his church’s Social Justice and Charity team and on the Board of Directors of the Dominican Foundation. He also serves on the boards of the privately-owned Fremont Bank and Nationwide Boiler, Inc.

Bill graduated from the University of Florida with a BSBA degree in accounting. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is a long time racquetball player who still enjoys an early morning game with like-minded players a few days a week.
